Don’t Stop Doing What You Love and Treat Yourself

Hello Fellow Readers,

I posted on Wednesday! Yay!

Anxiety can be crippling. A very important thing is to not let anxiety stop you from doing what you love. It’s so easy to try to shut the world away and remain safe within yourself. It’s one reason depression will frequently follow anxiety. But withdrawing from the world isn’t healthy no matter how scary it can seem. Like my previous post, I felt better after getting away for a day.

For me, my thing is reading. For a little while there, I thought I wasn’t going to be able to read again. It was so hard to focus on the words of a book, including writing one. Once I got back into the swing of reading, I was mad at myself for forgetting how much I love it. I was also disappointed in not being able to write for so long, but I know I shouldn’t be. It was all part of the healing process of my mental health.

Doing what you love is a part of finding your “normal” self again.

As far as treating yourself, everyone deserves a little something. Even when budgets are tight, you still need a little splurge to keep you sane.  My addiction is subscription book boxes. I absolutely love the goodies that come in different boxes and it’s like getting special surprises every month. Splurge on something that brings you joy, especially if you get a good deal on it!

These book boxes are fun and give me great props for my bookstagram. What’s a bookstagram and why are they so great? Well, that’s what I’ll be talking about next week! 😉

Until next time.

Happy Reading,

Bethany Wicker
